Welcome to ECA's South Wales Region
The Regional Team work closely with their Members across South Wales supporting them to growth and prosperity engaging with many diverse businesses, offering multi-disciplined services across the electro-technical industry.
Our engagement with Members at meetings and events enables us to work in partnership by identifying local needs and delivering these requirements through an array of technical briefings, webinars, training, collaborative business and social events or pro-active support from our Regional Team as required by our Members.
We are always looking at opportunities to raise the profile of our industry by bringing together our Members with other sector organisations and industry partners to everyone’s mutual benefit. Throughout 2023 and beyond, we will continue to host wherever possible, a series of technical briefings and our regular networking meetings to provide up-to-date technical content and opportunities for Members to collaborate, meet like-minded people, share their views and gain exceptional industry knowledge whilst developing strong relationships across the Region.
Highlights last year in the South Wales region included Safe Start Health & Safety Awareness course on 5 January, the Specifiers Event on 11 November at the Cardiff Future Inn and our recent Cardiff & Newport 86th Dinner & Dance on 21 January where we raised over £830 for a local charity ‘Boomerang Cardiff’. We also held CPD presentations from Commercial Associates, Philip Payne on ‘LG12 Emergency Lighting’ and SWA (Specialised Wiring Accessories Ltd) on ‘Get your cable fix'.
Last year we were pleased to celebrate South Wales milestone anniversaries as ECA Members: 75 years - Towy Electrical Co Ltd and 25 years for IWEC International Ltd, K D Cannings & Son and Applied Power Services (South Western) Ltd.

- Cardiff & Newport networking event at the Regional Office, Cardiff on Thursday 18 May 2023.
- ECA National Golf Day at Slaley Hall, Northumberland hosted by the North East region on Thursday 25 May 2023.
- Health & Safety Awareness Safe Start Course at the Regional Office, Cardiff on Tuesday 12 September 2023.
- ECA Project Net Zero Roadshow, Newport on Thursday 12 October 2023.
Highlights for 2024:
- Health & Safety Awareness Safe Start Course at the Ynysygerwn Sports & Social Club, Neath on Friday 5 January 2024.
- Cardiff & Newport 87th Dinner & Dance at the Cardiff Marriott Hotel on Saturday 20 January 2024.
